Meet founder, Jennifer James. After 5+ years in the industry as an actor, producer and writer, she launched Double Take Newspaper in February 2025 with a mission to inspire, encourage, and spotlight the next generation of independent filmmakers.
“A lot of this industry is fighting to be seen, to be heard. When I first moved to London five years ago I knew no one. No one to collaborate with, no one to create with, and no “in". I felt isolated and behind. I was scrolling newsletters, social media, and only seeing a highlight reel of successes, but not actually knowing how to build a career. I started Double J Productions in 2020, a company that I have built to empower up and coming voices and not be afraid to be transparent on the process - even when that means admitting big mistakes along the way.
Filmmaking is so much more than numbers or a political agenda, it’s a medium that takes a human experience and elevates it into an art form that strives to take an audience on a journey to feel, resonate, inspire - the list could go on.
Double Take News isn’t just about the Final Cut, it’s the entire human experience behind and beyond. It's the reality of the industry from the highs to the lows.
